鹭岛-嘉禾屿-思明州-厦门……一个个地名的更替见证了厦门这座岛屿城市的历史演进，而后江埭区域职能的转变亦是其发展的一个缩影。这个曾经修建在埭内堤坝上的第一个工业区，它的历史沿革源于厦门海堤，如今已成为新兴的商业区。身处现代都市环境中，后生们关于老厦门的历史记忆需要补白，老厦门人的记忆需要重温。

为了追溯有温度的厦门记忆，SeeekLab设计了“回声Echo”这个可互动数字艺术装置。“回声”就像是一个掉落在都市口袋花园里的海螺，一个能听到大海回响的媒介。我们将在厦门海边采样声音输入装置程序，转译生成海浪的有声动态图像。当你从装置前走过，海水也会随着你的脚步涌动。“潮起潮落”间，装置后的背景墙也以最直接醒目的方式展示着厦门从古至今的每一个名字，以此引发你我对这座城来时之路的联想和思考。我们希望通过艺术与科技结合的方式呈现一幅水边的自然景观，让厦门的海重现于后江埭，让你能抽身于繁忙的都市生活，回溯与自然有关的城市记忆，在行走间，以一个新的视角感受持续变迁中的厦门。

Xiamen has experienced the replacement of different place names in its historical evolution, that were Lu Island, Jiahe Island, Siming City, etc. Meanwhile, the transformation of the regional functions of Houjiangdai is a microcosm of Xiamen’s development. Houjiangdai is the first industrial zone that was the part of Xiamen Seawall Construction Project, now become a new business district. In order to trace back the memory of Xiamen, SeeekLab designed “Echo”, an interactive digital art installation that is a medium to transfer the echo of the sea. The sound of ocean waves in Xiamen is recorded and translated into a dynamic lighting effect by programming. When you pass in front of the installation, the sea will flow with your steps. After flowing and ebbing, the background wall behind the installation also displays every name of Xiamen from ancient times to the present in the most eye-catching way, so as to arouse our imagination and thinking about Xiamen city. We hope to present a natural landscape by the water by combining art and technology, so that the sea of Xiamen can reappear in Houjiangdai. In doing so we wish to create this environment to let people escape from our busy urban life and experience Xiamen from a new perspective.

SeeekLab X 创作备忘

2020年底，我们和PROTOSCAPES源境建筑设计以及象屿自贸开发以城市更新的角度完成了思明区后江埭29号园区（后江in象）的改造设计，并为此创作了永久性互动装置【Echo回声】，试图通过城市景观的再造，将老厦门的记忆再带回厦门人身边，让后江埭重新焕发自己的独有魅力。

尊重一个地方的历史，用艺术和科技的方式为空间注入人的温度，是SeeekLab一直秉承的设计理念。在基础性的城市硬软件建设都完成后的今天，我们所生活的城市需要具备的不仅仅是能量和智慧，更重要的是还要容纳“人”的情感、承载社会的意义。
